Your saved learning and the starter lesson are available offline on this device. Creating AI courses, finding suggested resources and opening websites need an internet connection.
Common questions
How do I start the beta?
Install Mervilo through your TestFlight invitation. Open Account, sign in with the sign-in code sent to your email, and redeem your separate personal beta invitation code. Then choose a learning goal and tap Build My Plan. If you do not have a beta invitation code, contact the person who invited you. You can try the offline starter lesson without AI sharing.
Can I keep learning while my course is being created?
Yes. Choose Explore while I wait to try the offline starter lesson or use saved learning. The app keeps you informed as your course is prepared. Keep Mervilo open and connected while your course is being prepared. You can cancel without losing the goal you entered. If a request fails, follow the message to retry. Retrying uses your saved AI sharing agreement.
Why am I being asked to agree to AI sharing again?
Version 1.0 (5) adds optional lesson resource searches, so it asks once for agreement to the expanded sharing notice. After that, your agreement is remembered for your account and service on this device. You can review the privacy policy or withdraw agreement in Privacy & help. Withdrawing stops future AI requests; your saved learning remains available.
How do suggested lesson resources work?
After you agree to AI sharing, opening a saved lesson can find relevant websites for that lesson. If another search is running, the lesson waits its turn. You can cancel or leave the lesson and keep learning. If no matches are found or a search fails, use the lesson’s retry option when you are ready. Resources are optional: you can add your own links, remove suggestions, or complete the lesson without them. Removed suggestions do not automatically return when you reopen the lesson. External websites may change, require payment or contain errors.
The app says I have reached a limit or need to sign in.
Follow the message shown. A temporary busy message means try again later; a daily limit means wait until the next daily allowance. If your session has expired, open Account and sign in again, then return to your course or lesson. Your saved learning stays on this device.
My email sign-in code did not arrive or expired.
Check your email address and spam folder. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes; request a fresh code when the app allows it and use the newest email. This sign-in code is separate from your beta invitation code. Contact support if you still cannot sign in, without sharing either code.
My beta code is not working.
Open Account and paste your full invitation code, checking for missing characters. Each invitation can be redeemed by one account only. Your OpenAI API key is not a beta code and should never be entered here. If the problem continues, contact your invitation sender or email support without including the code.
Can I edit an AI plan?
Yes. You can rename, add, remove and reorder modules and lessons, adjust tasks, and add your own resources. AI lessons can contain mistakes; check important information against trustworthy sources. Rubric scores are your own self-assessments.
How do I export or delete my learning?
Open Privacy & help to export your portfolio text or erase local learning data. Export first if you want to keep your work. Portfolio text does not include imported attachments. Shared exports and device backups are separate from local erasure. The privacy policy explains these choices.
Will my work sync to another device?
The current beta stores learning on the device where you create it. Accounts control AI access; cloud learning sync is not available. Export work you want to keep before removing the app or changing devices. Apple backups depend on your device settings.
I found a problem in a lesson.
You can edit the lesson in your plan. To report a problem, send a brief description through TestFlight feedback or email support. Include only the lesson details needed to explain the issue and remove personal information.
